How much do ProEdit's editing services cost?

The cost of editing a document varies based upon the type of edit needed (copyediting or proofreading), subject matter expertise required, complexity of the project, and length of the document.

The table below shows the features and approximate costs for ProEdit's copyediting and proofreading services.

Refine a document's language, making suggestions to improve the clarity and quality of the language.
Check for run-on sentences, wordiness, sexist language, awkward constructions, vague language, and passive voice.
Examine the completeness of a document.
Insert comments or questions regarding items such as misused words, inappropriate content or tone, missing cross-references, major organizational problems, and awkward or confusing passages.
Enter corrections directly into the word processing file.
Check cover, title page, and copyright page for consistency.
Check that abbreviations and acronyms are spelled out at first reference.
Check for spelling errors.
Check for punctuation errors.
Check for grammar errors.
Check page breaks for widows and orphans.
Check placement and consistency of headers and footers.
Check format of all parts of the document.
Compare the last draft of a manuscript with a new draft.
